Dreamy Inspiration

Upon seeing the  adorable Forget-Me- Not leggings from Stetsis, we immediately thought how perfect they’d look with a whimsical Sarah Seven dress.  But for some reason the inspiration just wouldn’t stop there.  Thus, we present to you the probably the most romantic, dreamy, girlie and soft look we’ve ever put together! Perhaps its for a bride or perhaps just a magical stroll through a field of baby’s breath…or in the clouds.

From try, to buy, to tie – Bridesmaids

Last night, my two bridesmaids and I made a final decision on their dress for the wedding. I was set on having the color of the dress in the ivory family, so I was thrilled to discover 57Grand and their Almond color. I love it! And even better, the dresses are 100% re-wearable and offer many flattering styles. We chose the Waverly and we’re adding the Walker sash for that extra wow factor. I can’t wait to see my two best friends in their gorgeous dresses!

While there, I also got a sneak peak at some of the new styles soon to be available from 57Grand, so if your wedding is next summer or in the winter, I’d definitely recommend waiting a bit and checking them out.

One Great Dress – Yellow!

The moment this amazing yellow dress jumped off my screen and into my heart, I knew it would be our One Great Dress for the week. I love it all! The bride looks fantastic…that’s no tiny dress, in a very bold color, but she just rocks it! Her dark hair worn down is a perfect compliment to the dress and I love that she went with black nails. From head to toe, everything seems to be working in happy sunny harmony!

From try, to BUY, to tie – Amanda part 2

I bought my dress!!! Now I know its been awhile since the first post in this series so if you need a refresher, check out Part 1.

Here is the story behind the buy…

As I mentioned at the end of Part 1, there was a dress I thought could be THE ONE, but I wanted to keep looking. Since,  I had my eye on the second Vera Wang dress from our post on Asymmetrical Necklines, I decided to go try it on. While at the salon, I discovered the exact same dress as the one that I brought a picture of to my appointments to show consultants. I couldn’t believe it!

(photographer: Robert Sukrachand)

I thought this bride looked stunning and the dress fit all my loves…lace, ruffles, sheath, and vintage vibe. So it was the perfect picture to show consultants what I was looking for in a dress. But I never imagined I’d be trying it on! Needless to say I was in love, but I still had the first dress from Reem Acra on my mind.

Now I know its complete different but there was something about it I liked. I tried it on with a vintage-esque jeweled belt which definitely changes the look.

What to do! I loved TWO dresses! My solution? Call in the big guns…my dad.

I’m very close with my dad and I knew he’d know which dress was meant for me. First, I took him to Reem Acra to see me in the dress

And then to Vera Wang (again this is me in the dress…please keep in mind neither of the samples fit me 100% and the picture quality isn’t great)

He knew right away. The Vera Wang dress was THE ONE for me! There was no question in his mind that this was the dress he could see walking me down the aisle in. His reaction was exactly what I needed to help make my decision. I, of course, started crying. I am so happy I asked for his opinion and was able to share the experience with him. I love my dress, it is absolutely me. Definitely the dress I’ve always envisioned myself wearing (it has covered buttons down the back! I always wanted covered buttons!). I hope you’ll all I agree I chose the right one!

As you can see, I’m doing something a little different around the waist from the other bride. The belt that comes with the dress didn’t really work for me so I’m exploring other options. What do you think? Do you like the sash plain as in the first picture or with the broach in the second? Or perhaps no sash at all? I’d love to hear your thoughts.

I’m so excited to have a dress and that my dad was a part of the process. I’d highly recommend bringing dad along. Next step, tying the knot! Now those pictures I can’t wait to share…with my head.

One Great Dress – Having Fun

It brings a smile to our faces to see a bride having the time of her life and loving her dress. The incredibly talented Katherine O’Brien perfectly captures the playful side of both bride and dress in these full-of-life photos. Plus, we are smitten for the feather and lace detail on Abby’s gown. Visit Katherine’s blog to see more… the bride in a bathtub, a man dressed as cupid, heart shaped glasses, and a basketball? Lets all remember to have a little fun!
