Alt Bride from the Fall 11 Runways

With the weather so kooky in NYC, it has us daydreaming about Fall fashion already! Today’s runways have been showcasing some styles that are not so ‘alt’ anymore, but we still love them all the same. You gotta make quick decisions on these babies though…style from the runway is often cut in limited quantities and many socialites pre-order the best of the best. Here are four of our favorites for four different types of gals.

Left: Badgley Mischka
Right: Colette Dinnegan
Bottom Left: Alice and Olivia
Bottom Right: Dolce and Gabbana

Shoes Glorious Shoes!

Summer wedding season is upon us, and if brides have the dress and veil in tow, they are probably still deciding on one key factor…SHOES! I suggest you wait until the very end to make this all important decision, because shoe trends change pretty often. Not that you want your look to be totally ‘trendy’ but since your wedding dress may cover your shoes for the majority of the wedding, you can have something fun and unexpected on your feet that get the attention during your portrait session.

We just got a fresh crop of Badgley Mischka shoes in. Can you handle how cute the frilly fabric is on the Randall and Randee? And the Hyde is not only a perfect something blue, but our store manager, Cassandra, has found a fun way to manipulate the fabric bow to make a variety of looks from one shoe. Come in and ask for a demo!

And for your bridesmaids, have a little fun with color and detail. The shoe shots are some of our favorite photos at a hip wedding! Three hot trends right now are slate gray, floral prints, and neon pink.

Trend Alert – Rose Gold

We have the most adorable pair of rose gold, sequined Badgley Mischka shoes in our store, used to try on with gowns, and we are amazed at how great these rose gold hues look on most skin tones. It is not only a hot trend right now, but a very flattering and timeless look. We especially like it on redheads, and it looks awesome with our Elizabeth Dye Persuasion gown, which has a golden glow. Thanks to our bride from Boston this weekend who bought the Persuasion despite the fact that she owns a dress already! She knew her day would not be complete without this gown and has been dreaming about it for weeks. And thanks to her mom for being so understanding and supportive!

Bridal Stylist – Rock and Roll Bride

We had the most AMAZING brides this weekend. Girls with such style and awesome ideas! They were like stylists themselves, coming up with cool inventive ways to personalize their gowns. One bride that we totally feel in love with bought our Badgley Mischka Mallory. This gown is amazing because it is two looks in one (the ballgown comes off and it’s a hot minidress underneath for the after party). But what we really love is that she took it one step further and came up with some fun ways to wear the skirt later…with a one shoulder tank top, an off the shoulder sweatshirt, a basic white tank and the list goes on. I can’t wait for her to send us pictures because this bride has such spunk, I’m sure she is going to rock all of these looks at some formal event after her September wedding!

Here was one of our favorite stories we created for her tulle skirt: Rock and Roll Baby!

Dress: Badgley Mischka-Mallory
Leather Moto Jacket: Rebecca Minkoff
Caged Shoes: Christian Louboutin-Fernando
Layered Metal Necklace: Fenton/Fallon for Jcrew
Studded Gloves: Asos
Vintage Style Lace Corset: Topshop

Can’t wait to meet all of the girls this week for more dress up!
