Happy Friday Lovelies!! Memorial Day Weekend is here! Do you have anything planned? Going anywhere special? Well from New York to LA we have listed some inspiration to intrigue the senses and ignite your adventurous side! Among other things of course, like catching some rays.

Let’s not forget that Memorial Day is more than getting together with friends and family for river rafting and just hanging out on the beach. We are to honor those lost to us in war, and show our respect to those who are involved in the armed forces. Check your local listings for events to do just this.

One Great Dress – Fun & Flirty With Lea-Anne Belter’s “Avia”

Lea-Anne Belter, as I’m sure you know by now, is coming to Lovely NYC for a trunk show and I am only too pleased to style one of her gorgeous gowns! It’s summer time ladies and the sun is shining. Pops of tangy coral orange and luscious purples are a flutter, adding the perfect mix to “Avia’s” whimsy flair.

At Lovely, we love accessories and I’m loving these! The coral necklace, pearl drop earrings, and this really awesome purple and gold mood stone all have that round circular shape and compliment each other. Even the rosette headband to put in your hair keeps the trend going.

Speaking of hair, this just goes to show that an updo is nothing short of gorgeous. Perfect to show off that low back of “Avia.” And with that duchess lace and silk buttons down the back? Swoon!

For the wedding, finding little things to put in your pops of color can really make a difference. Nail color and the grooms and groomsmen ties are easy additions.

Flowers, flowers, flowers! And you can find so many options in these colors too! Check out my pin here to see a huge list of flowers with their name and picture.

I think I’ll just make these. They look too good and too delicious to just post them! Yum!

Don’t forget the tablescapes for your decor. I’m sure your guests will feel very royal sitting at these tables among the deep purple linens. Imagine the centerpieces having those coral flowers from above!

Lovely’s “Gatsby” Gowns

It’s been a long time coming, but Baz Lurhmann’s The Great Gatsby is now in a theatre near you, and jazz age is all the rage! The beloved American novel clearly stands the test of time, as it is the fifth film adaptation since 1926. We were drooling over the costumes of course- it just does not get any better than a Miuccia Prada, Brooks Brothers and Tiffany’s collaboration.

Summer BBQ Checklist!

As the summer months are approaching, and Memorial Day is right around the next corner, I thought BBQ-ing with some friends either in your own backyard, on the beach or in the park sound AH-MAZ-ING. But of course you need all the proper aspects of a perfect BBQ. Summer drinks, like these red bandana tied mason jars full of a sweet mojito and topped with red and white striped straws are definitely a conversation starter…in more ways than one. Good food, good conversation, and don’t forget the lighting! Bonfires to roast your marshmallows for s’mores, or just being surrounded by citronella candles hanging from the trees above you is just perfect. So here’s to having a smashingly good BBQ and let us know how it went!

Real Wedding with Cindy & Hal

When I look at Cindy & Hal’s wedding pictures done by Sweet Little Photographs, I can’t help but wish I had been there! Everyone looks so happy and genuinely having the best time. Fun, fun, party in the sun in Palm Springs at the Ace Hotel and the dress of course is a stunner! Cindy wore and found her dress “Elsa” by Watters here at Lovely LA and we are just smitten that we were able to help her find “The One” here. Now of course, “The One” is more profound as her now husband, Hal, and what a cutie! Congrats to Cindy & Hal and this new adventure they take together!

Now a few words from the bride herself…

Tell us about THE dress and what inspired your look.

I fell in love with this dress the first time I put it on. It was everything I wanted. When I imagined what I wanted my wedding dress to be I wanted a classy somewhat vintage look with lace and a fun, sexy back. I knew I was getting married in Palm Springs, so I wanted something comfortable and lightweight. I tried on a ton of dresses in every style imaginable but something changed when I put this one on at Lovely, everything just came together and I knew it was THE dress. I also started tearing up and got really giddy.

What were the most important details to pulling off your dream wedding?

It was all about location and finding the right venue for us. We wanted everything to happen in the same place: the ceremony, reception and where our guests stay. We also didn’t want the night be cut short by an early curfew. The ACE hotel in Palm Springs provided all of that. Most of our family and friends stayed at the hotel with us so it felt like we were surrounded by our loved ones and had a non-stop party the whole weekend!

What was the most memorable moment?

There were so many amazing moments but there are two that really stand out. Reciting our vows to each other during the ceremony and having all of our loved ones in tears around us. Then at the end of the night once the music stopped I starting running and jumped into the pool with my wedding dress on and then having everyone at the wedding jump into the pool, most of them with all of their clothes on!

If you could give future brides any advice, what would it be?

Try not to stress out. It all works out in the end and everything comes together even when you think it might not. And when it comes to the day, really stop and look around and take it all in. Like everyone says it does go by so fast so just enjoy every second, take time to have moments with your bridesmaids and most importantly your groom and have the time of your life!

We’ve been immensely excited for all of our readers to get to know Jacquelyne Mae Photography because well, Jacquelyne’s photos are just so darn beautiful. We wanted to know a bit more about Jacquelyne so we recently chit-chatted with the photographer about her business and love for photography.

Lovely: Tell us a little bit about how you got started in wedding photography?

Jacquelyne Pierson: As a young girl, I loved photographing people and knew one day I would have the opportunity to capture raw expressions and emotions during a persons most vulnerable moments. Following my love and passion for photography throughout high school and college has taken me up and down the East Coast. I was presented many amazing photographic opportunities along the way which ultimately led me to Philadelphia. Living in Philadelphia has allowed me to fully commit to my photography company and live a life I have dreamt of as a professional wedding photographer.

L: What do you love most about your job?

JP: I am grateful each and every day to work in the wedding industry. Being a wedding photographer, I am able to combine my background in Fine Art Photography and Business which allows me to run a successful company in a unique way. Weddings bring people together from near and far, relationships are formed, and love presents itself in the most special way. As a wedding photographer, I capture those details..big and small. The details that people will remember and take home with them. Throughout the day, I am fortunate enough to experience the love through the beauty of smiles, laughter, kisses and hugs. Photographing the event in a persons life that will be the stepping stone to the next chapter in their lives is a great responsibility that I am proud to be a part of.

L: What’s your ideal couple like?

JP: We all know that weddings are a very important day filled with a lot of anxiety, stress, and sometimes tears. My ideal couple acknowledges the bumps in the road and accepts them with grace. They know that love conquers all and no matter what, at the end of the day they will be married to their best friend. I enjoy working with couples who are completely natural, organic, genuinely excited and head over heals in love. My ideal couple accepts the untraditional way I photograph and is not afraid to have the beauty of their day photographed in a unique way. More importantly, I love for my couples to relax, have fun, laugh, all while I capture the most honest representation of them as a whole.

L: Any last words?

JP: I have always been a firm believer in never taking a single day for granted. Each day presents a clean slate to continue working towards your ultimate goal. As a wedding photographer, I am constantly looking for new ways to make each day better than the last. This allows me to provide the absolute best experience for all of my clients. My clients are my first priority in any situation pertaining to their wedding day. I am here to help them, to make them comfortable, and to capture the most exciting day of their lives. The importance of their wedding day is undeniable and I am always honored to share and celebrate it with them.
