Flower Girl Fashion

After coming across not one but two adorable and fashion forward options for flower girls, we just had to share.

First up, via Hello Lovely Things, two super cute dresses from Chloe. The first one with the ruffle collar can’t help but make you go awww!

Via Bliss, a sweet Scottish lace dress from Minna. Perfect for a more rustic outdoor wedding.

Adorable overload!

The List Wedding – Questions Answered!

Dear lovely commenters,
Thanks for all of the kind words on the Style Me Pretty feature of Lovely’s very own Lanie and her hubs Chris. There were also quite a few questions, which I’d like to take the time and answer here:

* For those who wanted to know about the DIY flowers, click here for a tutorial.
* The fabric was from Jo Ann Fabrics.
* The menu template is from Martha Stewart and can be downloaded here.
* The Badgley shoes are sadly sold out. But this Raphaela style is the same heel height.
* The ties were from Lord and Taylor
* Two of the maids dresses were Jcrew and the satin one was Prada on super-sale!
* Most decor (chandeliers, curtains, etc) were from Ikea…great wedding resource in the garden and lighting section! Cheaper than renting!

I think that was all of them! Feel free to email if you have more questions.

Love, Lanie

Lovely Store Decor 2 – One Day, Three Pinks

I now know why blue was assigned to boys and pink to girls. Blue is easy going. You might prefer one blue over the other, but any blue works just fine. Lovely was painted blue this weekend, and in one quick coat, it looked just right. Our pink bathroom, on the other hand, has been a pain in our @?!. Pink is complicated and unpredictable. Just when you think you find the right shade, you put it on the wall, but nope, looks like Barbie dream house. So we try another, nope, looks like a band-aid. Next one, Pepto Bismol. We are just about fed up with pink. We have gone through Silky Smooth, Paris Romance, and Bridal Pink and nothing looks right. Now when Bridal Pink doesn’t look right in a bridal shop, you know it’s not us, it’s the paint. Should I give it one last try? Maybe this Mosaic Pink or Dress Pink? Any tips on finding a good pink?

I’ll leave you with some more thrift finds. Got this great dove gray chair, a fun chartreuse number, and the butter leather vintage suitcase. And check out the awesome gigantic mirrors my hubs is building for the store! He is the best. (Clearly these pics are not to scale as the mirror is way huger than a suitcase).

Expect short posts this week at Lovely because we are in the final stretch before the store opening and workin’ workin’ day and night! But if you just can’t get your fill of Lovely, check us out on 100 Layer Cake where we are guest blogging this week!

A Lovely Web Launch – Now accepting appointments!

Our full rollout of our website has happened (well semi-full…we still have a few more tricks up our sleeves). Check it out at lovelybride.com and let us know what you think. Any and all feedback is appreciated as we want it to be fully usable and understandable!

One thing we are really excited about is our ‘My Lovely‘ feature. We are going to take pictures of brides in their final selections and post them so they can view the images as they build the rest of their wedding look. We aren’t fond of the rule of ‘no pictures’ in bridal salons. It’s so inconvenient that the only photo reference of your chosen dress should be on a size 0 supermodel torn from a magazine. Plus My Lovely allows you to take a peek at it once in awhile at work to pep up your day!

We are now accepting appointments, so give our appointment system a whirl or pass this along to brides-to-be who would enjoy Lovely.

Looking forward to meeting you!

DIY Bridal Hair

Jamie over at From Me To You posted the most adorable and helpful how-to video for one of her hairstyles.

After two unhappy hair/make-up trials, I’ve decided to do it myself. I’m confident on the make-up side and after seeing this video I’m sure I can manage my hair too. The self-portraits Jamie takes are just filled with amazing inspiration for bridal hairstyles, and I am thrilled to have her as a resource. Her whole blog is just perfectly wonderful.

Isn’t she stunning! I just love her timeless look. And of course the hair is flawless. I can’t wait to try out some of these on my own! Here are a few more looks to love that I hope to try to do. If I’m at all successful, perhaps I can share some how-to hair videos of my own!
