Meet the Stylist: Lovely DC’s Lauren

Lauren comes to us from the West Coast. She is a Cali girl at heart, but we couldn’t be happier to have her in DC. She brings her sunny and upbeat personality to every appointment! Leave it to Lauren to find you the perfect dress that has you running to the altar!

Tell us a little about yourself…

I am from Newport Beach, CA. Before moving to DC, I was a buyer for a boutique in LA. I have been in the fashion industry for 7 years and can’t imagine myself anywhere else. Before Lovely I never imagined myself working in bridal, but now I am totally obsessed. Being from California I am a little nervous about my first winter in DC, but I love any excuse for a new wardrobe.

What is your go to outfit for a night out in DC…

Right now I am loving anything with leather. I always incorporate a pop of color into my outfit and I would never leave the house without my platform boots! I always love how Kourtney Kardashian styles herself up and look to her for fun outfit inspiration.

What is your favorite dress in the store and how would you style it…

Honestly its so hard to choose just one, but I would have to say Practically Perfect by Sarah Seven. I would style it with a flower crown of beautiful colorful flowers, an embellished sash, and statement earrings. To finish it off navy Louboutins as my something blue!

Describe your dream wedding…

It’s a tie between Hawaii and Miami overlooking the beach– Ill let my future husband choose!  I imagine a large wedding, lots of color and sparkle…come on people this is a celebration.

Any tips for the bride to be…

Just remember you have already found ‘the one’ and be sure to enjoy every minute of planning your wedding!

One Great Dress – Carol Hannah Whitfield’s “Belmont” In Bali

At the first glance of Carol Hannah’s “Belmont” gown you wouldn’t think destination wedding in an exotic place such as Bali. But this just goes to show, that most dresses can be totally made to fit whatever venue when styled right. A little bit of inspiration goes a long way, and with great attention to detail and staying true to culture and the environment you can make it work. Imagine Belmont in soft white, with a bouquet full of the bright and colorful native flowers of Bali. See yourself walking down a green pathway to stepping stones across a creek bed to stand in front of a high cascading waterfall with your honey at the end. Real flowers intertwined into your hair creating that bohemian style, and your wrists covered in bangles waiting for that special ring to be placed on your left ring finger. (Sigh…) But of course, as long as you feel amazing in Belmont (as I’m sure you will) it will fit any venue and is truly One Great Dress.

Now I can just see you both riding off into the sunset along the beach with Belmont’s silk waving gracefully in the wind behind you. It’s like your honeymoon started the moment you said “I Do.”

Carol Hannah Trunk Show is coming to Lovely DC January 17-19th and you yourself can see if Belmont is right for you! Make your appointment at

Inspirational Styles For Theia & Lea-Ann Belter Gowns

As many of you lovelies already know, we are happy to be having trunk shows for Theia & Lea-Ann Belter this weekend in NYC and Philly. There are so many themes, styles, and imaginations for weddings and since a lot of brides decide to make that decision based off of the dress first, I gave two stylistic approaches to a Theia gown and a Lea-Ann Belter gown. Two completely different styles, for two completely different dresses.

This sleek lady from Theia may seem a little conservative for you, but the sleek lines are all figure flattering and body conscious with a dramatic lace illusion low back. Black tie seemed appropriate with this gown, making the glamour of the evening for all to enjoy.

Lea-Ann Belter has a way with bridal style in that they bring the grand traditional qualities to our brides because they are timeless. This blush gown is sweet and charming, making you feel like a princess, and if there is one day to feel like a princess, your wedding would be the day right? And let’s take it just one step farther and embrace the blush!

PRETTY IN PINK  will always be a classic, and so will you in these gorgeous rose gold and blush tones. Blush seems to make the skin glow, and if you aren’t already glowing from the magic of wedding day, even these accessories will help you connect with your inner girly girl. Seeing this gown, I already feel light and giddy taking the stage like a ballerina.
