Lovely Loves Melissa Joy Manning

It’s always fun to come across jewelry designers who are doing unique and interesting things with jewelry. When I came across Melissa Joy Manning, I was instantly struck by her twist on the traditional engagement ring. Instead of using the usual white diamond, Melissa Joy Manning sometimes uses black diamonds, or diamonds with color which, in my opinion, are just as beautiful as clear white diamonds. It also helps to know that each piece is handmade in Berkley, California with sources from trusted suppliers who care about social and environmental sustainability.

I also am absolutely in love with her wedding band collection. The thin hammered gold rings are one of my favorites and definitely speak to a more non-traditional couple.

Lovely Loves Steven Allen

I always forget how much I love Steven Allen. Their selection of clothing and accessories mimics exactly how I’d like my closet to look – well edited, ready for the beach, and not so serious. I recently went through their inventory and put together three looks perfect for this summer.

One Great Dress – Elizabeth Dye’s New “Vertigo”

Ok, so remember the movie, “The Vow,” with Channing Tatum (sigh) and Rachel McAdams (LOVE) and they get married in a museum with like four of their closest friends, even though the museum doesn’t know, and then they get chased out by security, but it was so romantic and prompt to, that you wish you yourself could be as free and so in love that something wild and crazy like this doesn’t seem so wild and crazy?! Ok, maybe that’s a little extreme, and very, well, “movie.” But this is EXACTLY how Elizabeth Dye’s dress, Vertigo, makes me feel! She’s effortless and divine, and a love child, and free…well you get the picture. But of course, if you can’t picture it, yours truly has put together a style post on this One Great Dress to help inspire that spontaneous and totally romantic side of you! Enjoy Lovelies!

For The Boys – Richmond Thread Lab

Richmond Thread Lab is a Virginia-based accessories line that finds inspiration through vintage details and texture. With each piece handmade, designer Christie Thompson offers a cute selection of men’s ties that I absolutely fell in love with and also does custom orders – great for the bride and groom that are looking for custom ties for their groomsmen. Below are just a few of the ones I’m totally eyeing for my hubby. If only I could get him into a suit more often!

Tiffany & Co. + The Great Gatsby

If Market was any indications of trends to come, it seems that The Great Gatsby is on everyone’s mind. I can’t tell you how many times I heard the words “Oh this is so Gatsby!” or “With Gatsby coming out soon, girls will be crazy over this!” – and you know what, they’re totally right. I’m beaming with excitement over the new Baz Luhrmann film because while I loved the book, it’s definitely time someone put those amazing characters and outfits onto the big screen. One company that made those looks come to life is Tiffany & Co. who designed a lot of the jewelry for the actual movie. Lucky for us, you can purchase all the designs at Tiffany & Co. Unlucky for us, some pieces cost the same as a small house. But no one said there was any harm in simply looking…
