Real Wedding: Molly & Craig
Molly came into Lovely New York with one dress in mind, the “Carrie” gown by Hayley Paige. She tried it on and never looked back! She knew it was the perfect ensemble for her Philadelphia wedding and we love how absolutely happy she looks in every photo.
Tell us about THE dress and what inspired your look.
I fell in love with the Hayley Paige “Carrie” dress when I saw it featured on Lovely Bride’s homepage while I was researching the store before my appointment, but I didn’t think I would be able to pull off all of the sparkling detail and full skirt. I thought I would probably wear a more simple and classic dress. At my appointment I decided to try it on anyway just for fun and you could tell right away it was the dress. I lit up and just wanted to dance around in it and embarrassingly broke into tears. The dress was so special and unique – I tried one more on after it, but knew, given my reaction, it was the only dress I wanted to get married in.
What were the most important details to pulling off your dream wedding?
My mom was a life saver – she helped with and planned everything. Her help was my most important detail! We decided that good food and beautiful flowers were our priorities. I didn’t have a real idea of a “dream” wedding in my mind – I just knew I wanted my guests to be well-fed and happy.
What was the most memorable moment?
The most memorable moment for me was actually after dinner during dancing – out of the corner of my ear I heard Craig yell: “where’s my wife?!” and watched him run around the dance floor searching for me. I’m not sure why this sticks out for me so much – except for the first time it hit me that I really was his wife and I was just so excited hearing him say it out loud and seeing how much he wanted to celebrate with me. It’s a big deal to fill that role and knowing that I was truly his favorite person and he wanted that with me just made me feel so loved.
If you could give future brides any advice, what would it be?
You must enjoy the day. Everyone who knows me was worried I would be stressed and worrying, but I was just the happiest bride. You have to have fun. Looking back on it now, I know there were things that may not have been perfect, but I did not notice a single one. The whole day with Craig was a blur and I don’t think I stopped smiling or twirling around in my dress for a second. You also have to appreciate the people there celebrating with you. I was overwhelmed with how wonderful and loving my family was welcoming into Craig into our family. Watching them show love for the guy I loved more than anything meant more to be than anything.
