Bridal Beauty- Pre-Wedding DIY Face Mask

So, my daily beauty routine usually consists of simply washing my face in the shower. Every once in a while, if I’m feeling it, I’ll apply Kiehl’s Midnight Recovery because it’s awesome and truly works. Lately though, I’ve really been into face masks. Unsatisfied with most of the masks I’ve purchased at my local drug store, I set out to find some at home recipes I could easily make and apply to my face. Since finding a slew of recipes, I’ve finally settled on one that I absolutely love. It smells (and tastes–woops!) good, and leaves my face glowing.

And of course, with all of you lovely readers in mind, I thought–what a great way to prepare your skin for your wedding day! This simple, extremely-affordable DIY mask coupled with a few visits to your dermatologist for a facial will have your skin glowing brighter than the sun. Okay, not that bright. But still.

Ingredients & Instructions:

1/2 Cup of Unripe Papaya

1 Teaspoon of Plain Yogurt

1 Teaspoon of Honey

Combine all ingredients in blender and blend together until smooth. Apply to face. Leave 8-10 minutes then rinse off with cool water.

So, whats going on here? Unripe papaya contains alpha-hydroxy acids and papain–an enzyme that helps dissolve dead skin cells. Additionally, yogurt contains lactic acid while honey helps retain moisture.

I gave this mask a whirl today, and while I’ll spare you the picture of me with the mask on my face, I will say that my face is feeling eeextraa smooth right now. It also feels less dry than usual. Give it a try and let us know what you think. How did you prepare your skin for your wedding day? Let us know in the comments!

Looks like a great recipe, thanks!

But to any very-soon-to-be-brides, I’d say don’t try any new skincare in the weeks before your wedding.

Not from personal experience, but wow, I had a friend who, despite being allergic to nothing before in her life, had an awful reaction to something the day before her wedding. Just a word of warning!

Yes, definitely! That’s why I stressed a trip to the dermatologist!
