Real Wedding- When Life Gives You Lemons…

Alpine lakes, medieval castles, and mountainous forests created the backdrop for this stunning Slovenian wedding. Aliona and Andrey’s destination nuptials were so sweet and intimate, we could not wait to share them with our readers! This Russian couple incorporated some of the cutest details into their day. From the lemons and balloons, to the kite flying and picnicking, we just can’t get enough. Not to mention the bride looked killer with a soft, simple gown and bright pops of yellow in her accessories. This wedding will have you smiling form ear to ear.

Lovely: Tell us about THE dress and what inspired your look.

Aliona: I always knew I wanted a very simple, soft dress with few embellishments and a straight silhouette. I spent a lot of time looking at various wedding websites and finally found a collection of Destination wedding dresses by Sandals. I was thrilled when the dress finally arrived. It was a gentle air of silk, and had the most beautiful movement in the wind. Once I found the yellow shoes, I knew I wanted the color to be an additional element to our wedding day.

Lovely: What were the most important details to pulling off your dream wedding?

Aliona:  The most important part of our wedding day was that the ceremony take place at the pier. Although the weather at Lake Bled is subject to change at any moment, we decided we couldn’t part with the idea of being married on the water. Despite the rain the day of the ceremony we decided to grab our umbrella and run to the pier to say ‘I do’. In addition to the location, it was very important to us that we have beautiful photos and video to commemorate the day. Uroš Čuden and Jon Aleksander were able to convey the atmosphere and mood of our wedding day and realize it in photos and film exactly as we imagined.

Lovely: What was the most memorable moment?

Aliona: For us, our entire wedding day was so memorable because it was held for us in an unusual, very beautiful place in the Alpine Lake Bled in Slovenia. The most exciting moment was of course the ceremony at the pier of the lake. The day brought very heavy rain and low storm clouds, but even that would not have been able to stop our wedding day! The second important point was a trip to Pokljuka, a nice village in the alpine meadows, where we ran a kite and had a sweet little picnic on the hills. And of course the wedding supper catered by the best chefs of Lake Bled was divine.

Lovely: If you could give future brides any advice, what would it be?

Aliona: The most important thing is to make your wedding day the most memorable day of your life! Try to approach the creative and unusual. Organize your wedding somewhere where you have never been in some interesting city or country, as we did!  The wedding industry has developed so much now that you can organize a wedding anywhere in the world.
