Real Wedding – Classic and Couture
Danielle and Jason have a knack for style that you just can’t fake and when they tied the knot, their day was full of classic elegance and shone with modern details. From Danielle’s couture bridal style, replete with accessories by Chanel, to their romantic reception decorated with votives and sparkling lights, each element was sophisticated and stylish.

Lovely: Tell us about THE dress and what inspired your look.
Danielle: At one of the first bridal shops I went to I was asked: “Who do you want to be on your wedding day?” I struggled to answer that- I wanted to be a few different things. I wanted to be modern, yet classic, simple yet elegant, city chic yet romantic. Once I tried on the dress I knew that I could be all of those things. I loved the bodice detail and modern shape of the dress with the juxtaposition of the romantic Chantilly lace. When I put this dress on I felt like myself – it was so me. I couldn’t imagine my wedding day in anything else.

Lovely: What were the most important details to pulling off your dream wedding?
Danielle: I knew that I wanted to get married in the city and wanted the night to encompass all the things that were important to us – food, drinks, music and atmosphere. I had been to Tribeca Rooftop for an event and had always thought: “This is exactly the type of place I want to get married.” It had all the elements I had wanted for a space – lots of windows, gorgeous city views- but was a full service venue as well. Once we picked our venue the rest was easy – I really focused on flowers and lights.
Lovely: What was the most memorable moment?
Danielle: At the beginning of our ceremony, when “All You Need Is Love” by the Beatles started to play, Jason was the first to walk down the aisle and I heard people clapping and cheering for him and even though I wasn’t in there yet I could feel the energy and love from everyone in the room – it was really amazing.
When it was finally my time to walk down the aisle, I walked down with both my parents and all I can remember is feeling so lucky: I had the most amazing parents by my side as I walked down the aisle to meet the most amazing man. We were in a room with all of the people that meant the world to us and I wanted that moment to last forever.

Lovely: If you could give future brides any advice, what would it be?
Danielle: Have fun during the planning. There are definitely times when it can get tense and you can get really stressed out, but try and remember to enjoy it.
Look at as many blogs and magazines as you can for inspiration. There is so much information out there for brides right now. It can be overwhelming especially in a city like New York when there are so many vendors to choose from but never lose sight of the vision you want- you can make anything happen. There are so many options at so many different price points.
When the big day actually arrives, make sure you and your groom take a few moments right after the ceremony together-you can both reflect on the amazing commitment you just made– also take this time to eat something because you will be so overwhelmed and excited once you go out into the cocktail hour that you will not want to waste a minute eating!
Finally, take a few days to rest after the wedding before you go away. You don’t realize how tired and exhausted you really are. Once all of the events end it is nice to have some time to reflect on it all with your new husband and close friends and family. We were so happy that we weren’t on a plane the next day!
