Cupcakes have been a hot wedding trend for the past few years but now there is a new star on the wedding dessert horizon.  The macaroon is a heavenly dessert with growing popularity with brides across North America.  It is fast becoming the trend when infusing one’s wedding with a fun, colorful, bite size treat that is sure to satisfy the sweet tooth of all in attendance.

For those who are wondering what the heck a Macaroon is, it’s a French specialty, typically made with almond flour, sugar, and eggs.  The outside is crunchy and the inside is meringue like, and usually two macaroons are joined together with a ganache filling.
