And last but not least, our uber hip Rachael has the perfect NYC outfit planned! Happy New Year to all and looking forward to a glamourous 2011! xoxo, the whole Lovely crew.
If there is ever a year to get glamourous it is 2011, and what better way to ring in the new year than dressing up to the nines…or tens…or elevens for that matter! This year you’ll more than likely spot me in sparkles from head to toe with bright pops of color to accessorize. Red lips, red nails, and and a shimmery glow to top it off! Happy New Year!

There’s nothing more lovely than a simply sweet engagement shoot centered on a couple’s love and history together. When the incredible team at Wrinkle in Time Photography sent over this gorgeous set of photographs of the newly engaged Kiersten and Mike, we were swept away by the genuine romance that fills every shot.

The Proposal:
“Mike and I started dating the summer before our junior year in high school and 10 1/2 years later he proposed. It was freezing and we had been running errands separately all morning when Mike called and asked when I’d be home. He wanted to take a ride over to the beach to take some pictures… this was something we’d done about 1001 times before. I reluctantly said yes, though I could barely stand the cold. Bundled up in jackets, hats, scarves, boots, gloves and whatever else we could find, we were on our way. We held hands and walked the beach discussing life and family as we had also done 1001 times before. We took turns taking pictures and he said, “Why don’t you sit here… I want to get a picture of you with the bridge in the backdrop… look up.” He was taking forever and when I looked down… he was on one knee with a beautiful ring in hand. After all this time, he was still able to surprise me! I thought I would’ve absolutely known it was coming. (Had I known… I would have gotten dressed and just froze my butt off!)
Our wedding plans are well on the way. We are getting married this coming June and have got a great band and the most fabulous photographers lined up! My dress must remain a secret for now, but it is amazing!”

We often get the question…what do you recommend for bridesmaid’s gifts? Well the first thing we tell brides is, don’t get too focused on gifts that fit into the wedding day…as they may never get used again! But these gorge bags by Red Ruby Rose do double duty…you can find some that fit in your palette AND they can be used again and again! What is a bar bag, you ask? Well a fab small bag that can be used in an informal way for a night out on the town. Way more cool than a mini, glittery thing that is too small to hold a phone and too fancy to spill a good pint on…
