Lovely Opens Today!

Can’t believe the day is finally here! We are so excited to welcome everyone into our new home.

In honor of our opening, we just wanted to take a moment to share with you some of the amazing things being said about Lovely and to thank everyone for mentioning us. We are so grateful to all who have spread the word about Lovely.

Check us out on DailyCandy NYC!!! We’ve been reading their emails every morning for years, so it was quite special to see Lovely in our inbox.

A sneak peak at the Lovely photo shoot by Sweet Little Photographers.

You know how much we love our in-house custom designer, Sam of Samuelle Couture, so it was great to see her and Lovely mentioned on Weddings Fresh!

Little Winter Bride loves Sarah Seven dresses and let everyone know you can find them at Lovely!

Speaking of Sarah Seven, she joined the ranks of Vera and Monique on Style Me Pretty’s Look Book. Also on Style Me Pretty was the wedding of Lovely’s own Lanie List.

Lanie was also guest blogging on one of our absolute favorites, 100 Layer Cake. She shared amazing advice and ideas, be sure to read all her great posts.

Last night we were at New York Magazine’s Wedding Event at the Metropolitan Pavilion. Thank you to everyone who stopped by. We had a blast

Thanks again to all.  We hope to see you (in person) soon!

Designer – Ulrika Sandström

We love how Ulrika Sandström offers a romantic, a rock-n-roll, and a fashion forward look all in one collection. There is a great mix of tough and soft, hip and timeless.  Some might say unfocused but we say fabulous! Oh yeah, and of course we are showing them to you because they all make great options for an alternative bridal or hot rehearsal dress.

Will we every get tired of ruffles? Nope!

Photo Inspiration – Sultry Sun Flares

J’adore Spring fashion magazines. All of the spreads are full of sunshine and smiles. It’s also a great season to take wedding inspiration out of the plain old fashion magazines. I keep going back to this Dior campaign from a few seasons ago. The whitened pastels and sun flares are so glamorous and sweet at the same time.

One tip for you brides-to-be: It’s ok to Art Direct your wedding (slightly). When interviewing photographers, show them swipe of your favorite photography, even if it’s from fashion magazines. It’s good to know beforehand if they can accomplish the look, or what props you may need to get a couple of amazing setups for your bridal portrait. Don’t go overboard, since it’s not a professional photo shoot, but one or two portraits with a bicycle or with this amazing sun flare will make you glad you put in the time up front.

One Great Dress – And Great Styling!

I’m sure it comes as no surprise that military jackets are so haute right now. Two years ago Erin Wasson wore a real version with her cut off jean shorts around the chic spots in NYC that models hang out. And now you are seeing them styled into photo shoots in just about every high end magazine. I’m kind of liking the mix of hard and soft and using it in a bridal way. Leave it to Kate Towers to make bridal and military look so chic together!

Flower Girl Fashion

After coming across not one but two adorable and fashion forward options for flower girls, we just had to share.

First up, via Hello Lovely Things, two super cute dresses from Chloe. The first one with the ruffle collar can’t help but make you go awww!

Via Bliss, a sweet Scottish lace dress from Minna. Perfect for a more rustic outdoor wedding.

Adorable overload!
