What do you get when you cross an Anthropologie Stylist and a General Manager for Tom Colicchio restuarants? A deliciously creative wedding! Siobhan Lee and George Attenbury’s September 2009 wedding is nothing short of simple lovliness. You can tell by the images by the amazing Katie Murphy, that the day was as rich as the desserts. Some weddings just exude the vibe and this is one of those weddings…gorgeous props and craft projects aside, Katie really captured the free spirit of the day.

How amazing is the simplicity of the bouquet. The subtlety of the decor really highlighted how beautiful the bride looked!

Siobhan and George had a vintage trolley carry the bridal party from the church to the reception.

And of course, food catered from the world renowned Craft restaurant.

How cool is the outdoor cigar bar? We love that there were ‘manly’ activities incorporated into the reception plans. Truly a wedding that reflected both bride and groom’s tastes.

Here is some more detail on the day in the bride’s own words:

Ceremony:
St. Paul’s Church, The church is a 175-year church old nestled between the outer lakes of the Mullica River in the Pineland Reserve in New Jersey. The interior of the church is the beautiful original white tin.

Reception:
The guests were driven from the hotel to the ceremony, then to the reception in an antique open-air style trolley. The reception was held at my childhood home. The property is a retired farm property in the protected wildlife area of the Pinelands.

The inspiration for the night was A Mid Summer Nights Dream. Every detail of the reception was planned and executed by myself, George, and our families. The reception started at dusk and lasted until the wee hours of the morning. The property’s surrounding trees were decorated with tiny white lights, and flowing white fabric.

The flowers for the day came from the various gardens on the property. Some were potted and used for the table settings, while the bouquets, were cut from the evergreen trees, lavender bushes, and Astilbe plants. A close family friend assembled the bouquets and made special leaf-shape stepping-stones for the yard.

My dress was a simple ivory bias cut slip dress from J. Crew. The back of the dress was lowered, and had a waistband added to make it a unique version. I was inspired by the ease and sophistication of Carolyn Bessette Kennedy’s Narcisco Rodriguez’ dress. I wore metallic python platform heels from Dior.

We made our entrance to the reception into a sea of glowing sparklers and cheers.

Dinner was an upscale BBQ style. The food was cooked by the amazingly talented chefs from Craft Restaurant. Plenty of charcuterie, lobster salad, grilled meats, and more kept the guests full for hours!

I surprised George by having our favorite singer from the Carnegie Club in NYC perform for the night. We shared our first dance to Frank Sinatra’s “I Won’t Dance”.

My father, brother, and brother in law fashioned an indoor/outdoor cigar bar between two of the antique barns on the property, which provided a great after hours lounge.

When the night eased into the wee hours of morning the guests relaxed by the bonfire. (Which was dug out an hour before the ceremony by my brother!) The children at the wedding hunted for the perfect marshmallow roasting sticks in the woods with flashlights, and handed them out to guests to enjoy the late night snacks.
